SPNL to mark European Heritage Days in Paris

The society for protection of nature in Lebanon (SPNL) will participate in the European Heritage Days which will take palce in Paris, on 20-21 September 2014. The event Titles “Cultural and Natural Heritage Days” will include a preserved animals farm, the Ecancourt farm, with rare goat species and other animals. A photographic exhibition “On the Move” proposed by The Mediterranean Consortium for Nature and Culture

Coping with Water Crisis

Through the generous funding of the USAID- OTI Lebanon project , SPNL in collaboration with the municipality of Anjar and Anjar Water Users Association (WUA) started the project “Safe Guarding Agriculture Based Economy in Anjar”. The following project has a three month duration, where it aims to support the community of Anjar ,especially farmers in coping with the water crisis of 2014.

Water Monitoring Workshop

As a part of the project ”Restoring Hima Ecosystem functions through promoting sustainable community -based water management systems “in Hima Anjar- Kfar Zabad IBA” Funded by MAVA foundation, SPNL organized a two day training workshop on the sustainable management of water resources in relation to agriculture productivity through water and soil monitoring

Saving Migrating Birds? Socialize!

Recently SPNL launched a social media campaign to save birds during autumn migration season 2014 using the following hashtags: #Lebanon #Toyourna #Birds. The slogan of the campaign is : “Don’t kill migrating birds”.

At SPNL, we are passionate about the science and art of listening to and engaging with people. We also believe in the power of social media and we encourage our team to leverage technology to connect with people, stakeholders and influencers.
