Farmers from Ras El Metn and Hammana

We are working with farmers from Ras El Metn and Hammana, following weekly with them and helping them to strengthen the traditional cultural practices that are nature-friendly at their farms (pruning, crop rotation, and terracing, preserving, and planting local varieties).

Hima Farm Best Practices

We implement Hima Farm Best Practices: Drip irrigation systems, organic fertilizers application, pests and diseases' monitoring, IPM implementation, sustainable harvesting practice.

Creating awareness for Hima villages

We hope after all this exchange to promote and create awareness in Hima Hammana and Hima Ras El Metn and the surrounded villages, about the importance of sustainability.

When you just arrived he is always preparing for you all Lebanese food for breakfast or lunch, using all his local products. Each product is from his sustainable farm: fig jams, tomatoes, green crops, olives. He plants with his hands many crops like olive trees, many vegetables, fig trees, pines… and keeps nature do her job without using pesticides or intensive farming. Glad to work with such a kind soul, a real local farmer, ready to learn and also to teach in order to mix between his traditional knowledge and our expert sustainable practices.
