Saving Migrating Birds? Socialize!

Recently SPNL launched a social media campaign to save birds during autumn migration season 2014 using the following hashtags: #Lebanon #Toyourna #Birds. The slogan of the campaign is : “Don’t kill migrating birds”.

Lebanon is a hugely important country for migration as it is on one of the most important migration routes in the world.  Lebanon is part of the Rift Valley/Red Sea flyway which is the second most important flyway for migratory soaring birds (raptors, storks, pelicans and some ibis) in the world, with 37 different soaring bird species, including five globally threatened species.

For most of us, social media has changed our lives in some meaningful way. Collectively it is changing the world for good. Given the pace of innovation and adoption, change has become a constant. Every so often we find the need to stop and reflect on its most recent and noteworthy developments, hence the following list.

As twitter, Facebook and other social networks continue to grab share of consumers’ time spent online – whether at a computer or via mobile phone – companies would do well to consider how to tap into the broad reach of these platforms in communicating their progress on sustainability and the environment.

At SPNL, we are passionate about the science and art of listening to and engaging with people. We also believe in the power of social media and we encourage our team to leverage technology to connect with people, stakeholders and influencers.

As communications professionals we are held to a higher standard in our online, public conversations. Our principles are grounded in honesty, transparency and a passion.

The world of emerging technology is always changing. These principles apply for any and all public communications platforms (both mobile and web-based). We’ve registered in a few networks below:
