As a start, in nature between all trees and birds’ sounds in Hammana, educational activities were provided for families like: “Birds around the World” get to know different birds around the world (their names, food, place they live, their shapes…) while doing bird crafts and bird puzzles “Open and Match”: open and match the cards with the same animal picture “Match the becks”: the children started a beck’s hunt in the Hima Farm around the plants, and after collecting all becks they had to match each beck with the according to bird Those games were along with numerous information about birds, reptiles, and animals in general and particularly in Lebanon. A mother told us:” Wow, many years passed in my life, and today I learned details about nature and birds I have never heard about! This is what we need for our children to learn about nature from their young age in an interactive way.” In MLHC, a visit for the Bird Aviary was done with an explanation about each bird, his story, his injuries, and his release. And after that comes the colors! Each family built and colored a birdhouse in wood, with pink, red, blue, each child colored a place for birds to settle, a place for hope and peace. This day was an awareness session; in interactive games the children received plenty of environmental information about birds and biodiversity, knowing that information will push them to protect and be aware of the importance of each element in nature.
