Training on forest management and monitoring

As part of the EU Andeket project a training for scouts was held in Ramlieh, Mount Lebanon on the 29th and 30th of March, 2014. The aim of this training workshop was to prepare and teach the scouts on forest management and monitoring. The 2 day training was filled with both theoretical and practical activities that kept the scouts engaged. The sessions highlighted the main components of the forest ecosystem as well as bird, mammal and insect identification. Next, trainings on forest threats were given focusing on forest fires and its management through prevention and intervention. Best practices in forest management were also highlighted and many outdoor and hands-on experiences were included that gave the scouts a sense of practical experience when dealing with forests.
