Doroub Al-Hima Program Participates in 17 km Eco-Sports Trail from Ramhala to Damour Coast

Upon the invitation of Jungle Gym Fitness Center, the Hima Trails Program of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon participated in a 17-kilometer eco-sports trail that began in Ramhala and passed through Ain Ksour, Aabey, Kfarmatta, Al Msharraf, and Damour, concluding at the seashore. The event took place in an atmosphere filled with sportsmanship, joy, and meaningful engagement with nature.

The trail offered participants a valuable opportunity to explore the natural richness and environmental diversity of these regions, while reinforcing key concepts of eco-tourism and sustainable development.

Representatives of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon emphasized that sports can serve as a powerful bridge for environmental protection, strengthening people’s connection to their land and encouraging healthy and sustainable lifestyles. They also highlighted that eco-trails are practical tools for supporting local communities by promoting responsible tourism and creating sustainable economic opportunities.

This activity aligns with the Hima Trails Program’s commitment to advancing the Hima concept as a community-based model for natural resource management, while linking natural areas to sustainable tourism routes that allow visitors to experience Lebanon’s landscapes in ways that respect the environment and benefit local residents.

Combining sports and nature conservation reflects a holistic vision that sees environmental protection not as a separate activity, but as a way of life that promotes physical well-being, social cohesion, and sustainable development.
