“Earth and Freedom” Sports and Environmental Activity in Baysour Hima

As part of efforts to promote environmental awareness and encourage outdoor sports, the Directorate of Education and Youth of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party – West Branch, in collaboration with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) and Baysour Hiking Group, organized a sports event entitled “Earth and Freedom” along the Al-Talleh trail in Baysour Hima.

The event brought together young people and nature enthusiasts who explored the Hima and discovered its rich biodiversity of wild plants and various bird species. The activity also included awareness sessions highlighting the importance of Hima as a model that links natural resource protection with local community engagement to foster sustainable environmental and developmental practices across Lebanese villages.

Organizers emphasized that the gathering was not merely about hiking or sports in nature, but rather a message of awareness and belonging—affirming that protecting the land and safeguarding environmental freedom form an essential part of identity and a commitment to future generations.
