How To Start A Candle Business In 2022

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), organized a workshop for women entrepreneurs in candle design and production at West Bekaa Hima Center.
A part of SPNL’s 2030 Staretgy, the organization is keen to support the identification, development, production and promotion of micro-enterprise products to strengthen livelihoods in Hima communities. On another end, the organization is also committed to empower women directly around its Hima sites, helping progress equality in rural areas. As part of a series of ongoing trainings, this candle workshop comes to promote new livelihoods for women, by reviving and training them on traditional home-based crafts.

Additionally, SPNL centers offer women entrepreneurs new marketing channels, encourage them and enable their businesses to grow. Rural Hima products are marketed actively by the centers through various events, shops and online marketing. By this, new revenue channels are also created to support centers’ operation and thus SPNL financial sustainability.

Those trainings are funded by the Sigrid Rausing Trust (SRT) through its current grant to SPNL to strengthen the institutional foundation and ensure the organization’s healthy and sustainable growth.
