Lecture about responsible hunting at Green Orient Camp 2019

Today SPNL participated in the Green Orient Camp 2019 which is held by Green Orient with the collaboration of Shouf Biosphere Reserve at Ain Zhalta.
Mr. Maher Osta of SPNL gave a lecture about responsible hunting and biodiversity, explaining to the participants why we hunt some bird species and preserve others, while explaining the Lebanese hunting law in detail, highlighting the differences between sustainable hunters and illegal poachers. The lecture was interactive and fun, and Mr. Osta answered all the questions that the participants asked him. Hoping for more of this interaction and sharing of knowledge in the near future.

Al Hima Magazine 5th Issue

This edition of Al Hima magazine weaves together inspiring stories of nature conservation and community resilience, highlighting how Lebanon is being stitched back to life—one Hima at a time. The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) continues its mission to preserve the country’s natural heritage by empowering local communities. A cornerstone of this effort is the BioConnect project, funded by the European Union, which has achieved three national firsts: Lebanon’s first natural park (Upper Matn), first geological park (Shouf-Jezzine), and first endowment Hima (Btekhnay).
