LRI Reforestation Outreach project in Hima Anjar (May – Oct 2012)

Project Goal: To raise awareness of local communities on the importance of the Syrian Serin globally threatened bird & reforestation of its habitat.

Project Objectives: Awareness raising interventions on forest conservation and management in Hima Anjar.

Project Activities:

  • Development of Educational Displays at the Hima Visitor Center.

  • Development of Interpretive Trail and Signs.

  • Bird Migration and Outplanting Festival.

Project Outcomes:Aware, participating and active general public and key stakeholder groups, including children, who make informed choices on sustainable forest use and management.

Al Hima Magazine 6th Issue

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) has released the sixth issue of Al Hima magazine, focusing on the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi (October 8–15, 2025), where SPNL will join four key sessions. The issue features an exclusive interview with IUCN President Razan Al Mubarak, who emphasizes aligning IUCN’s work with global biodiversity agendas, governance, member responsiveness, multilateral engagement, ethical use of technology, and amplifying diverse voices.
