SPNL prepared LRA’s building for quarantine in Khirbet Qanafar

In the framework of the joint cooperation taking place between the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) and the Litani River Authority (LRA), SPNL has prepared a building for quarantine in the village of Khirbet Qanafar, which was provided by the (LRA) to be at the disposal of the Ministry of Public Health.

These joint efforts are being undertaken to address the health threat to the population, in order to secure prevention measures and spaces for quarantine, and support government efforts to regulate measures for self-quarantine; and to limit the spread of the Coronavirus epidemic.

Al Hima Magazine 5th Issue

This edition of Al Hima magazine weaves together inspiring stories of nature conservation and community resilience, highlighting how Lebanon is being stitched back to life—one Hima at a time. The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) continues its mission to preserve the country’s natural heritage by empowering local communities. A cornerstone of this effort is the BioConnect project, funded by the European Union, which has achieved three national firsts: Lebanon’s first natural park (Upper Matn), first geological park (Shouf-Jezzine), and first endowment Hima (Btekhnay).
