Strengthening Environmental Education: SNOW Program Collaboration with Green Hill School

A highly productive meeting was held at Green Hill School in Chbanieh with the headmaster, Ms. Hind Bou Raslan, and the HR and Community Outreach Director, Ms. Suzanne Halabi, to present the SNOW (School with No Walls) program, supported by the BioConnect EU-funded project.

During this meeting, a detailed presentation of SPNL highlighted the numerous opportunities for collaboration with the school. Ms. Hind Bou Raslan expressed great enthusiasm about joining the HIMA Green School network and exploring further partnership initiatives.

As part of this collaboration, we will be launching the HIMA Community Service Program for upper school students. This initiative will actively engage students in hands-on campaigns and projects, either within their school or in the surrounding area, fostering a sense of environmental and community responsibility.

To finalize the details and provide training for the SNOW program coordinators, a follow-up meeting will be scheduled soon.

Al Hima Magazine 5th Issue

This edition of Al Hima magazine weaves together inspiring stories of nature conservation and community resilience, highlighting how Lebanon is being stitched back to life—one Hima at a time. The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) continues its mission to preserve the country’s natural heritage by empowering local communities. A cornerstone of this effort is the BioConnect project, funded by the European Union, which has achieved three national firsts: Lebanon’s first natural park (Upper Matn), first geological park (Shouf-Jezzine), and first endowment Hima (Btekhnay).
