Meeting held to discuss wetland conservation in the Western Bekaa

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) and the Middle East Sustainable Hunting Center held a meeting on Saturday at the Homat al Hima International Center, to discuss ways to conserve the wetlands of the Western Bekaa, which are important bird habitats, from pollution and from illegal hunting and poaching.
The discussion that took place included the possibility of a study about the current reality of the wetlands, as well as the possibility of choosing activists from the local community and developing their skills into potential job opportunities.
The meeting was attended by activists from the villages of Qeb Elias, Aana and Ayn Zibdeh, as well as the mayor of Mansoura Mr. Dany Jawich.
