SPNL Welcomes Delegation from Swiss Embassy to Explore Future Collaboration

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) had the pleasure of hosting representatives from the Swiss Embassy as part of the Embassy’s partner assessment and project selection procedures under the Small Grants Program.

Following an initial meeting with SPNL representatives, a follow-up visit was organized at SPNL’s headquarters. During the visit, SPNL presented an overview of its mission, core programs, success stories, ongoing projects, and its past collaborations with the Swiss Embassy.

The Embassy delegation, which included Michelle Jalkh and Hala Akouri, expressed particular interest in SPNL’s concept note focused on water-related initiatives—most notably the proposal for a Natural Park. The visit offered an opportunity to deepen the discussion around potential areas of collaboration.

The visit also featured a guided tour of SPNL’s center, where guests explored SPNL publications and a curated display of Souk El Hima artisanal products. The delegation was later invited to a traditional breakfast at Khair Al Ard Kitchen in Souk El Ghareb, highlighting the cultural and community dimensions of SPNL’s work.

SPNL extends its sincere thanks to the Swiss Embassy for their interest and engagement and looks forward to building a strong partnership to advance conservation and sustainable development efforts across Lebanon.
