SPNL and HHIC Launch SNOW Educational Session at Kefraya Public School to Promote Sustainable Water Use

Today, the Homat Al Hima International Center (HHIC) and the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), in collaboration with the Municipality of Kefraya, organized an engaging SNOW (School With No Walls) educational session at Kefraya Public School.

The session brought together around 50 students for an interactive awareness program focused on the importance of water resources and the need to use them in a sustainable way. SNOW, one of SPNL’s flagship environmental education programs, aims to take learning beyond the classroom by connecting students directly with nature and helping them understand the ecological systems that sustain their communities.

During the session, the SNOW team delivered dynamic and engaging activities that encouraged students to think critically about water conservation, the water cycle, and how everyday actions can help protect natural resources. The students’ enthusiasm and interaction reflected the success of the session and the impact of experiential learning promoted by the SNOW program.

This initiative is part of SPNL’s ongoing commitment to the Municipality of Kefraya, following the establishment of the Hima in Kefraya at the beginning of 2025. SPNL and HHIC reaffirmed their dedication to implementing all Hima-related educational and conservation programs within the municipality, aiming to strengthen environmental awareness, community participation, and sustainable resource management.

The success of this SNOW session marks an important step toward fostering a generation that values and protects Lebanon’s natural heritage. More educational and community-based programs are planned in Kefraya as part of the Hima framework, continuing SPNL’s mission of empowering youth to learn, engage, and act for nature.
