Awareness Campaign at Bureau Veritas, Beirut

World Environment Day is observed every year on the 5th of June to raise global awareness and to partake in positive environmental actions to protect nature and it is managed by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Bureau Veritas is a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification, delivering high quality services to help clients meet the growing challenges of quality, safety, environmental protection and social responsibility. In order to strengthen its environmental commitment, Bureau Veritas invited the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon – SPNL to celebrate the World Environment Day.

This event focused on the theme selected by the United Nations: “Go wild for life” (Zero tolerance for the illegal wildlife trade). The awareness event took place on Friday, June 3rd in the office of Bureau Veritas and it was managed and presented by Ms. Lena Farran and Mr. Adonis Al Khatib. The event was divided into two sessions and it was attended by around 40 employees of Bureau Veritas from all of their departments. The event concentrated on the illegal killing of birds & was done within the Birdfair funded project “Hope for migratory birds in the Eastern Mediterranean: action against illegal killing.

Al Hima Magazine 6th Issue

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) has released the sixth issue of Al Hima magazine, focusing on the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi (October 8–15, 2025), where SPNL will join four key sessions. The issue features an exclusive interview with IUCN President Razan Al Mubarak, who emphasizes aligning IUCN’s work with global biodiversity agendas, governance, member responsiveness, multilateral engagement, ethical use of technology, and amplifying diverse voices.
