A Planning Meeting for Hima El-Fakiha (Anti-Lebanon Range)

SPNL organized a planning meeting for Hima El-Fakiha on Thursday July 18 2013, ensuring the participation of the main stakeholders mainly municipality, CREADEL NGO, and SPNL. Five main economic sectors have been identified in the region namely: hunting, grazing, ecotourism, water, and agriculture. Further, importance of organizing annual awareness events has been highlighted where involvement of women has been stressed.

Several important issues were discussed such as CREADEL offer to use their center as a training center on sustainable hunting, and the needed branding for Hima El-Fakieh.

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) has released the sixth issue of Al Hima magazine, focusing on the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi (October 8ā€“15, 2025), where SPNL will join four key sessions. The issue features an exclusive interview with IUCN President Razan Al Mubarak, who emphasizes aligning IUCNā€™s work with global biodiversity agendas, governance, member responsiveness, multilateral engagement, ethical use of technology, and amplifying diverse voices.
