  • support change-makers and innovators actively engaged in the conservation sector
  • contribute towards creating a nurturing community for local entrepreneurs driving sustainable environmental impact

About the programme

Mowgli Mentoring, in partnership with ACS the Al-Shouf Cedar Society, Rural Entrepreneurs and SPNL – The Society for Protection of Nature in Lebanon and IES Social Business School will deliver a one-year project that aims to support, guide and empower rural enterprises in promoting and developing innovative solutions related to effective traditional land-use practices that lead to landscape and biodiversity conservation, as well as sustainable development in the districts of the Shouf and West Beqaa.

The rural entrepreneurs will develop their competence in designing their impact ventures strategy and implementation plans by participating in an intensive bootcamp and a tailored 360-degree mentoring programme.

This programme will enable the entrepreneurs to further develop their sustainability models, connect them to the local and international markets, build resilience and confidence as entrepreneurs and with their team.

The mentors will build their competence in mentoring skills and impact venture development through their mentoring and bootcamp training, during which they will learn and practice theories and high-end academic international knowledge into real local cases, exchange learnings and build together a supportive collaborative community.

The programme is supported by MAVA Foundation.

Al Hima Magazine 5th Issue

This edition of Al Hima magazine weaves together inspiring stories of nature conservation and community resilience, highlighting how Lebanon is being stitched back to life—one Hima at a time. The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) continues its mission to preserve the country’s natural heritage by empowering local communities. A cornerstone of this effort is the BioConnect project, funded by the European Union, which has achieved three national firsts: Lebanon’s first natural park (Upper Matn), first geological park (Shouf-Jezzine), and first endowment Hima (Btekhnay).
