This coastal area is known for its marine biodiversity, leading SPNL and the municipality to announce it as a Hima in 2006. This 0.01 km2 sandy beach is an important spot for the globally threatened sea turtles such as the green Turtles and the leatherback Turtles, as it provides them an egg-hatching spot. Many conservation activities took place in this Hima to protect the terrestrial and marine resources of the Lebanese southern coast. This site is considered attractive for ecotourism where visitors can enjoy bird-watching and the sea turtles eggs hatching which is a phenomenal event in the world of faunal ecology.
Qoleileh and Mansouri are coastal villages in southern Lebanon, known by their high marine biodiversity. Furthermore, this Hima was announced on 13 December 2006 to protect the southern Lebanese coast and its terrestrial and marine resources, especially globally threatened sea turtles (Green Turtles and Leatherback Turtles). It covers an area of approximately eight thousand square meters, by which its seashore provides the possibility of turtle and birdwatching.

It is important to note that this created interest in the next Mansouri village to announce marine Hima through decision no. 7 in 2008.
