Based on a documented complaint submitted by sustainable hunters to the Anti-Poaching Unit (APU), the APU’s electronic tracking and investigation team prepared a detailed report for the Internal Security Forces (ISF) Operations Command, concerning a man identified as A.M., known publicly as “The Fierce Falcon.”
The individual was found to be illegally hunting migratory and endangered bird species, conducting night hunting, and boasting about his acts on his TikTok account.
Following the APU’s report and evidence submission, the Dinnieh Police Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit moved swiftly to arrest the suspect, confiscate his unlicensed hunting rifle, and file an official legal report, in coordination with the North Lebanon Public Prosecutor.
The Anti-Poaching Unit confirmed that it has already submitted dozens of documented electronic complaints to the ISF Operations Command, many of which have resulted in legal action. The unit announced that these cases will be published progressively to raise awareness and strengthen deterrence against illegal hunting practices.
“This case demonstrates the effectiveness of cooperation between citizens, environmental organizations, and security forces in combating poaching,” said Assad Serhal, Director General of SPNL. “Such acts harm Lebanon’s biodiversity and distort the image of responsible, law-abiding hunters who respect nature.”

The APU is jointly operated by MESHC and the Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL), supported by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation, in collaboration with BirdLife International and in partnership with the Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS).
All operations are carried out in close coordination with the Lebanese Internal Security Forces, the Intelligence and Investigations Branch, and Military Intelligence. The APU’s work contributes to the EU-funded BioConnect Project, a 45-month initiative aimed at enhancing biodiversity protection and combating poaching in Lebanon.
