One Flock, One Chorus: The Global Birdsong Turns Nature’s Voices into Music

More than 100 bird songs and calls come together in an original Afro-electronic track celebrating BirdLife’s global Partnership—and supporting biodiversity conservation.

The world’s birds have a new song, and everyone is invited to listen.

The Global Birdsong brings together bird songs and calls contributed by BirdLife Partners around the world. Created by musicians Timothy Arinaitwe and Axel Wild, the track blends the voices of nature with Afrobeat rhythms and electronic production, transforming recordings from across continents into one shared musical experience.

From forests to wetlands, these sounds connect landscapes, cultures and the flyways travelled by migratory birds. Each voice contributes to a chorus that reflects the diversity of the natural world and the people working to protect it. BirdLife’s initiative gathered recordings from more than 100 countries, with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology helping Partners record and contribute their sounds.

The result is both a celebration and an invitation: to listen more closely to birds, appreciate the habitats they depend on, and take part in protecting the living world.

Nature Takes Its Place as an Artist

Released in collaboration with Sounds Right, The Global Birdsong credits NATURE as an artist. This means a portion of streaming royalties will help fund biodiversity conservation, connecting the enjoyment of music with support for the ecosystems that inspired it.

The release offers a simple way for listeners to join the initiative: play the track, share it with others, and help bring the sounds of birds to new audiences.

Listen, Share and Join the Chorus

SPNL invites nature lovers, music enthusiasts and conservation supporters to discover The Global Birdsong, now available on major streaming platforms.

Turn it up, listen for the bird voices woven into the music, and share this celebration of our planet’s extraordinary diversity.
