SPNL team visits Mrs. Claudine Aoun Roukoz

SPNL Team had a meeting with Mrs. Claudine Aoun Roukoz. The aim of the meeting was to organize for the World Migratory Bird Day 2018 event. The event shall take place at the Presidential Palace in the first week of October.
Mrs. Roukoz was very impressed to hear about the butterfly garden and trail that being implemented by SPNL at the West Bekaa Country Club. She explained about how important it is for them to take care of the landscape of the Palace and the accomplishments they have done already in terms of how the new plantings attracted bees and they were able to establish a bee farm. Mrs. Roukoz gave SPNL team a sample of the raw honey that was harvested in the gardens of the Presidential Palace. She showed interest in planting butterfly host plants and establish a butterfly trail with the help of SPNL team, to be part of the activities that will be done in the World Migratory Bird Day 2018 event planned.

 

 

Al Hima Magazine 6th Issue

The Society for the Protection of Nature in Lebanon (SPNL) has released the sixth issue of Al Hima magazine, focusing on the upcoming IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi (October 8–15, 2025), where SPNL will join four key sessions. The issue features an exclusive interview with IUCN President Razan Al Mubarak, who emphasizes aligning IUCN’s work with global biodiversity agendas, governance, member responsiveness, multilateral engagement, ethical use of technology, and amplifying diverse voices.
